Santuário San Rafael Antiochene Catholic church

An independent ministry in the Catholic Tradition

Most Rev. Christina Fernandez,  Bishop in the Antioch movement

About the Bishop

Most Reverend Christina Fernandez, a bishop in the independent Catholic movement and within the communion of the Antioch movement of churches,  is a life-long resident of Southern California who currently lives in San Francisco California and is Pastor of Our Lady of Light Church of Antioch , where she conducts a sacramental and healing ministry, as well as providing pastoral counseling and chaplain services in the area of health care.  Married to the Rev. Jim Willems, an Episcopal priest, she is the proud mother of four daughters.

Her vision for church and ministry includes a radical commitment to inclusiveness and gender equality, and a profound and intuitive commitment to the divine feminine as manifest in the Holy Sophia.  Author of numerous poetic works, she has also written the Liturgy of Christ-Sophia which gently introduces worshipers to a deep and abiding experience of God as both Father and Mother.

Bishop Roberto Foss cooperates with Bishop Christina and is grateful for the ongoing spiritual guidance and support of Bishop Christina.
